Dr. Dorothy Smith has over 10 years of experience in the mental health & addictions field and has worked in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and juvenile justice. Dr. Smith treats an array of populations including children, adolescents, and adults. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Jackson State University in 2011, Master of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve in 2013 and her Doctor of Professional Counseling degree from Mississippi College in 2018 respectively. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Mississippi, Board Qualified Supervisor (LCSW-S).

Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Mississippi Counseling Association (MCA), The National Council for Behavioral Health (NCBH) and the Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP). ​She maintains a Licensed Clinical Social work licensure and currently practices as an Independent contractor and consultant for several agencies in the Madison County and Hinds County area. She is versed in case management, medical social work, psychiatric disorders, mood and personality disorders and behavioral health management; her expertise is diversified. Also specializing in Substance Abuse and Crisis stabilization.
